South Florida Man Arrested After Machete Attack on Son's Classmate

Sunrise, FL - Sunrise Police arrested a 43-year-old man on Thursday after he allegedly attacked his son's high school classmate with a machete during a verbal confrontation.

Authorities say Elvis Buck was arrested on Thursday by Sunrise Police following an incident at a home on Northwest 105th Lane.

According to police, Buck's son has a strained relationship with the victim, a minor, and Buck had previously tried to instigate fights between the two.

On Tuesday, Buck and his son arrived at the victim's residence in separate vehicles, with the duo allegedly trying to provoke the teenager into a physical altercation.

After the victim requested that they leave the residence, Buck retrieved a machete from his car.

As the victim attempted to shut Buck's car door on his hand to prevent him from reaching the weapon, Buck's son began punching the teen in the face.

Buck then managed to grab the machete and raise it threateningly.

In an attempt to defend himself, the victim grabbed the blade, sustaining cuts to his hand, before managing to escape inside the house and call for help.

Buck and his son fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police apprehended Buck on Thursday and charged him with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

He is currently being held at the Broward Main Jail on a $10,000 bond.
